Please support trainings and relationship-building between environmental justice community organizers in Houston, TX and the Rio Grande Valley. 5 Houston-based environmental justice and reproductive justice community organizers will be hosting a 2 day workshop on: cultural sensitivity, art and activism, non-violent direct action, and intersectionality on July 25th & 26th in McAllen, TX. Participants and trainers are all from Texas and are hoping to build organizing connections to help foster a larger Texas environmental justice movement. Donations will go towards: – Transportation, help our trainers get to & from Houston, TX to the Rio Grande Valley. We need a van that we can fill with our own Houston participants too! – Education materials – Food and beverages for trainers and participants – Compensation for trainers who subsist on donations and very basic-needs living Partnering organizations: Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services [t.e.j.a.s.], Blackland Prairie Rising Tide, and Curando RGV.
